A photo of mysterious lights over Guatemala City circulates on social media, prompting rumors that a fourth light will bring about a major global catastrophe. Sharon Finch, a paranormal investigator, works hard to control the rumors even as tragic events happen in the exact spot of the three lights.

All Things End – Ian Williams

The end of the world is imminent. Humanity is preparing for the worse. Andy’s last wish is to reunite his estranged family before it’s too late.

Happy New Year from all of us at Mayhem, Madness and Mirth. To usher in the new year we have two brand new stories for you to read. The theme for this month is Groundhog Day style time-loop. We hope you enjoy them.

Anja’s Rush – Jessica Wren

An evacuation of Kings Bay is ordered when a foreign submarine is spotted. Going against this order, Anja rushes into town to get her son from daycare. Inspired by Run Lola Run, Anja’s Rush is told in three different “rushes,” each with a different outcome.

Displacement – Ian Williams

When a terrorist takes a group of people hostage, the Admiral enlists the help of Max, a skilled soldier with a penchant for comic books. To aid in the rescue, Max is given a time travel suit. But the suit is a big responsibility and The Admiral begins to questions if Max can handle it.

Carol of the Bells – Jessica Wren

Recently widowed Olivia Westcott notices that her teenage son is acting very strangely. An FBI statistician, she notices a bizarre murder pattern and comes to believe her son has fallen victim to Carol of the Bells, a horrific 300-year old curse. A mysterious stranger offers to help her break the curse, but to do so means Olivia has to face a painful past. Inspired by The Crucible.

Gift Wrap Killer – Ian Williams

A string of gruesome murders has Samantha, a homicide detective, determined to crack the case at any cost. But when her mental health is at stake, Samantha’s partner and family must intervene before she gets herself in too deep.
